Course Structure

During the first year the MA Art History in Rome from Late Antiquity to the Present provides all the students with a solid background and in-depth analysis in three main disciplinary areas: art history; archeology and architecture; methodology; during the second year the students will choose four specialized courses, naturally orienting their academic careers towards a more specific research field.
First year: Core Courses

  • Art History (Medieval, Early Modern, Contemporary)
  • History of Architecture
  • Archeology (Roman, Late Antique, Early Christian)
  • Material Culture and Restoration

Second year:
Students will choose 4 courses among

  • History of Roman Civilization
  • Old Masters Prints and Drawings
  • Museography and Planning of Art Exhibitions/Events
  • History of Italan Construction in the 20th Century
  • History of Urban Planning
  • Early Modern History
  • European Law
  • Art Theory

Extra activities:

  • Foreign Language (other than English)
  • Stage/Curricular Internship
  • Final Thesis
